First FMS-helicopter flight with wind settings

First try to fly a RC Heli on the FMS (Flight Model Simulator) with Wind-Settings. Wind-Speed = 1 meters/second, Gust velocety = 2 meters/second, Wind direction = 46°. In the meantime i learned to fly nose-in too, but it is much harder to control this little “Hornet from Hell” with wind-settings, like riding a wild mustang :-) I guess, a few more simulator-sessions (my next simulator will become the Reflex XTR or Aerofly Professional Deluxe), and i can try to crash… ooops, to fly my real …

this isn’t FMS!! FMS is not that realistic

  4. Rothirsch says:

It’s really FMS, but with a modified background made from real photos.

How would a person go about doing the samething you did with add your own real photos…

No, this IS FMS, but can you give me the link to find the heli. I found the backround, just not the heli.

How did you get FMS to have that good of graphics?

If it’s any consolation, I’ve found the wind in FMS to be very unrealistic. It’s weird. Flying a small heli in windy conditions in real life is indeed difficult, but FMS is….different. FMS is awesome for heli/plane orientation and getting in the actual stick skills, but the aerodynamics modeling is lacking.

I like that scenery, though lately I’ve been using the stadium one a lot.

where did u get the background?

Some people are a bit stupid,
Some say you can’t learn with a simulator,
But if you never flew a real heli before
How would you know what to do with the sticks?
Use a sim + transmitter and learn the controls :)

    you download them

I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!:) and i cant fly my plane:( LOL
It’s really difficult to fly a plane for your first time… i broke 2 propellers in 15seconds…

i have one of thats simulators and i have a helicopter to
and let me say one thing
the simulator its so far away to be the same thing at fly a real helicopter

  18. femtophysiker says:

Very good, can you tell me how you recorded the flight in FMS? thanks in advance

  19. MoRRisoNRisiN says:

this simulator is but there are sims that are closer sims only give you the basics really and the orentation learning which way to turn when the heli is faceing you or going away from you

  20. Rothirsch says:

Yes, after i learned the very basics with the free FMS i bought the very expensive but much more realistic simulator Reflex XTR.
Between the Reflex XTR and reality there is no much difference anymore, and even if the XTR with the iVol-Controller cost me 300 Euros, it was much cheaper than dozen of crashed helicopter-models.

I used CamStudio, and old direct-from-screen recording-software. I don’t know if it still available for download, the offical website of it did not exist anymore.
